The Sovereign Military Order of GSSR is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Marshal Vladimir Petkov with an iron fist, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.408 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Petkovgrad. The average income tax rate is 96%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Wildlife near farms is slowly becoming extinct, criminals rejoice in the streets as the entire police force is sent away on a training retreat, all major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, and priests are being drafted by the church load. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. GSSR's national animal is the Honey Badger, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Protestant Christianity, and its currency is the Credit.
