The Zombie Beat of Groovistan is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Mr T with a fair hand, and renowned for its irreverence towards religion. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 18.024 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Healthcare and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Funkytown. The average income tax rate is 60%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.

Protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, same-sex marriages are increasingly common, abortions are routinely performed in Groovistan's hospitals, and the government seeks peaceful forum with terrorists. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Groovistan's national animal is the Cadbury Bunny, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the High Five.
