The Defender of My People of Greek People Nation is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by St Michael with an iron fist, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 19.625 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Arch Angels. The average income tax rate is 80%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, traffic jams are a common sight due to construction work from a massive overhaul of the nation's freeways, movies and computer games are strictly censored for violence, and a National Academy regulates grammar and usage. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Greek People Nation's national animal is the Huskies, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Catholicstentist, and its currency is the Gold.

Greek People Nation is ranked 2,140th in 10000 Islands and 117,339th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -4 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
