A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Tourism, and Gambling industries.

Torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, reporters often lose their jobs over fact-checking errors, mining safety laws are often more expensive than what's being mined, and Red Cross demand for body bags are rising while sutures are decreasing. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Great Arkam's national animal is the dog, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the dollar.
