The Free State of Grandaddypurple is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by The Grand Chancellor with an even hand, and renowned for its happy-go-lucky citizens. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kambah Ridge. The average income tax rate is 92%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The Kambah Ridge Times is sold out, artists are pillars of society, graffiti graces every city's streets, and all recreational drugs are legal. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Grandaddypurple's national animal is the Gallah, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Aortism, and its currency is the Australian Mark.
