The Majestic Empire of Gradenk is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with a fair hand, and notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 8.74 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The tiny, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gradenk City. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.

Hundreds of thousands of convicts work as slaves in Gradenk's many privately-owned prisons, the nation's diplomatic missives are now delivered via sniper rifle, penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', and the police force is on a recruitment drive. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem. Gradenk's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Ringgit.
