The Majestic Empire of Gradenk is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by President S with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 13.569 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gradenk City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Calling out of the blue has become taboo, the government encourages conflict abroad to increase arms sales, the "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The Gradenk City Times is sold out, and commercial jingles have been ham-handedly forced into world renowned symphonies. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gradenk's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Ringgit.
