Its hard-nosed population of 1.676 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

A crusade against barbaric religious practices has begun, major cities are suffering under water rationing, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, and fur coats have become the latest fashion trend. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Goatolia's national animal is the Wily Goat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the goatling.
