The Republic of Gladio is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Aron Feller with an even hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.265 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Gladius. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 51%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Woodchip Exports, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Military spending recently hit a new high, door-to-door salesmen are frequently beaten up by 'vigilantes', many parents are becoming frustrated with their children's choices in spouses, and a government program is underway to revitalize Gladio's beaches. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gladio's national animal is the Mountain Gazelle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Dollar.

Gladio is ranked 174th in The North Pacific and 5,890th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 5 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
