The Dictatorship of German Nightmare is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by German Nightmare with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its compassionate population of 16.016 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Germania. The average income tax rate is 99%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

German Nightmare is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, CEOs and corporate executives are frequently found striking for better stock options, the government awards prizes to television shows featuring stereotype-breaking minority roles, and gambling is outlawed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. German Nightmare's national animal is the rat, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is free for everyone to choose, and its currency is the Mark.

German Nightmare is ranked 4th in Democratic Communist States and 100,729th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -11 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
