The Socialist Manifest Destiny of Genesis Era is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Chancellor Via Higa with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 3.941 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Commerce, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cetra Alpha. The average income tax rate is 77%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

Fewer people are bathing as citizens must show ration stamps before they can turn on their faucets, drunk drivers are sent to rehabilitation paid for by the government, speaking out against the government is punishable by flogging, and convicted murderers are free to walk the streets provided they attend rehabilitation classes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Genesis Era's national animal is the Phoenix, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Tropology, and its currency is the Rinascita.

Genesis Era is ranked 4th in The Isles of Liberty and 3,823rd in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 6 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
