The Technological Empire of Gauntleted Fist is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Judge-Magister Marcus with an even hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 7.558 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Home. The average income tax rate is 95%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Corporate lobbying has been outlawed, scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes, the police have been swamped with requests to stay up past bedtime, and terrified tympanists are finding themselves on the front lines armed only with kettledrums. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gauntleted Fist's national animal is the Spoon fish, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Random, and its currency is the credit.
