The Republic of Garyana is a massive, devout nation, ruled by President Marshal Gary Burns with an iron fist, and renowned for its parental licensing program. Its compassionate, cynical population of 4.348 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Saint Joseph. The average income tax rate is 81%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The minority inevitably have their addenda vetoed, a new generation of aquariumless hotels are being built under government supervision, racial and religious segregation has become rife as the various groups are loath to mingle, and citizens must pay to enjoy Garyana's pristine beaches. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Garyana's national animal is the red fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Christianity, and its currency is the Garyana Pound.

Garyana is ranked 4,047th in The East Pacific and 107,058th in the world for Most Pacifist, scoring -168 on the Lennon-Springsteen Scale.
