The Celtic Federation of Gandhapura is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Guillermo I with an even hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles. The compassionate population of 11.003 billion Gandhapurians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Atlantipolis. The average income tax rate is 89%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Nude art is becoming wildly popular, government officials have to mortgage their homes to make ends meet, eminent domain has been abolished, and government officials are held to the highest standard of morality. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gandhapura's national animal is the giraffe, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Ancient Tradition, and its currency is the gold star.

Gandhapura is ranked 10th in Ravencroft and 31,250th in the world for Most Subsidized Industry, scoring 16 on the Gilded Widget Scale.
