The Jamahiriya of Gaddaffi Libya is a massive, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.126 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tripoli. The average income tax rate is 47%. A large private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Woodchip Exports.

The government is a law unto itself, families consisting of more than three people are forced to split up, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, and phone taps are frequently carried out by the police. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gaddaffi Libya's national animal is the Desert Camel, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Libyan Dinar.
