The Democratic Republic of Fuegostein is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Captain Asschaps with an even hand, and renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.577 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Healthcare and Law & Order are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fuegostein City. The average income tax rate is 88%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, government-run screening operations remove embryos with severe genetic disorders, only fully-fledged members of MENSA are allowed to vote, and the art of conversation has been rediscovered. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fuegostein's national animal is the Kangaroo, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the chip.
