The Estat Frances i Espanyol of Franxico is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Tuco Benedito Pacifico Ramirez with an iron fist, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 16.251 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Equality, Education, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of La Nouvelle-Orléans. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 75%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing.

Tuco Benedito Pacifico Ramirez has just been declared ruler of Franxico in an international press conference, nudity is frowned upon, Franxico has designated La Nouvelle-Orléans as its capital city, and the nation's diplomatic missives are now delivered via sniper rifle. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Franxico's national animal is the Poodlehuahua, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Francpeso.

Franxico is ranked 9th in The Pleiades and 10,300th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 4 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
