The Protectorate of Flemmings is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by The Deputy of Divinity with an even hand, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 11.68 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Celantro. The average income tax rate is 68%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Customs turn away those considered to have an unfavourable ethnicity, cyber-crime and tin-foil hat sales are both increasing at record rates, children as young as twelve are conscripted into the armed forces, and high food prices have reduced the national diet to staple foods and water. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Flemmings's national animal is the Megaladon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Hugonautisim, and its currency is the Crown.

Flemmings is ranked 1st in Elite Conservative Circuit and 2,894th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 7 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
