It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Healthcare and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Serendipity. The average income tax rate is 47%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Tourism.

Anti-government web sites are springing up, mobile phone masts are being erected all over the country, international tensions are high as Firek threatens any government with the audacity to arrest its citizens, and students are known to arrive at school in their pyjamas. Crime is totally unknown. Firek's national animal is the snow leopard, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the gram.
