The People's Empire of Fioteria is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Specter Outcast with a fair hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 10.224 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Phantom. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

The nation's industries are scrambling to switch to biodegradable plastics, refugees from other nations are flocking to Fioteria's border, the nation has an international reputation for compassion, and the government helps teach children how to kill a man from six paces. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fioteria's national animal is the buddapest, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the spec.
