The Dominion of Fendem is a huge, socially progressive nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 746 million are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Religion & Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 18%. A robust private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Information Technology industries.

Politicians are to be found scavenging bins at night to supplement their income, Fendem's educational system is the envy of many and regarded as a pinnacle of academic achievement, the airship business has been driven out of the country by strict regulations and high fines, and corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians. Crime is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Fendem's national animal is the cow, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the burger.
