The government seizes all major gold finds, several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, marijuana is legal in the privacy of your own home, and police officers have nearly cracked a major underage astronomy syndicate. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. FeministBioengineering's national animal is the black widow spider, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is lovely, and its currency is the chrome oxome.
