The Socialist Vanguard Alliance of EuroSoviets is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.513 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Equality and Social Welfare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Athens. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Book Publishing.

Traveller camps regularly block five-lane superhighways, several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner, and the "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The New Athens Times is sold out. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. EuroSoviets's national animal is the Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Federius.

EuroSoviets is ranked 17th in Allied States of EuroIslanders and 101,417th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -16 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
