The Community of Europa Solidaire is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Lord Protector Brenden with a fair hand, and renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.235 billion love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Social Welfare and the Environment are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Paris. The average income tax rate is 96%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Most citizens in Europa Solidaire are abject pyrophobes after extremely graphic pamphlets were mailed nationwide by the government, citizens wishing to leave the country must surrender half their wealth to the government, every product goes through extensive safety-testing by the government, and the nationalized auto industry is adept at making durable little cars nobody wants to drive. Crime is totally unknown. Europa Solidaire's national animal is the Demoiselle Crane, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Solidaire.
