The Free Land of Euretania is a huge, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 816 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Welfare, and the Environment. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Euretania City. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, surveillance cameras are banned, welfare funding has recently gone through the roof, and 'unconventional' weaponry has been banned. Crime is totally unknown. Euretania's national animal is the leopard, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the euro.
