The Geezers of Essex Dream is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Field Marshal Essex with an iron fist, and remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.245 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Healthcare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Viridian City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 56%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Gambling, and Woodchip Exports industries.

Motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, heavy industry must go to expensive lengths to dispose of waste, the government is seen to favor Catholics, and a typical fast food menu item could serve a small army. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Essex Dream's national animal is the Goat, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Reem.
