The Kingdom of Ephoric is a massive, pleasant nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 3.423 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The tiny, corrupt government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 9%, but much higher for the wealthy. A large private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, and Furniture Restoration industries.

Crime is a problem. Ephoric's national animal is the helot, and its currency is the drachma.
