The Democratic Republic of Enris is a massive, cultured nation, renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate population of 2.313 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Social Equality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Axuris. The average income tax rate is 83%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation, nine out of ten citizens of Enris answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation, private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots, and parents must choose their children's names from a government-mandated master list. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Enris's national animal is the Venus Fly Trap, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Monoa.

Enris is ranked 8th in The United States of Europe and 13,305th in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring 20 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
