The Borderlands of Enduring Light is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Man of the Day with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 2.312 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Forever Plateau. The average income tax rate is 53%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Gambling industry.

Teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, criminals are put to death while cuddling their favourite teddy bear, businesses have become paranoid as waves of lawsuits sweep the nation, and citizens are enjoying a recent large cut in taxes. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Enduring Light's national animal is the Falcon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Credit.

Enduring Light is ranked 1st in Jul and 12,540th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 3 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
