The Republic of Emiton is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by The Doral with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 8.621 billion enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

Protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, government officials frequently cut taxes as a distraction from antics with their secretaries, priests are being drafted by the church load, and anti-government web sites are springing up. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Emiton's national animal is the dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the jocko.
