The United States of Elevation is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 19.819 billion are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Defence, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Beacon Heights. Income tax is unheard of. A robust private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

The latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid, the mining industry has taken a hit from tighter environmental regulations, and Leader has just been declared ruler of Elevation in an international press conference. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Elevation's national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Bottle Cap.
