The Northern Confederated States of Ehrereich is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Jacob Ward with an even hand, and remarkable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 12.35 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Now Kronnenberg. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 50%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Gambling.

Military spending is on the increase, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, the commercialisation of highly deadly weapons has instilled Ehrereich with a very polite populace, and citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ehrereich's national animal is the Dire Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Kriegerrand.
