Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Federal Republic of Edison Culver is a massive, economically powerful nation, renowned for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.148 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Culver City. The average income tax rate is 27%, but much higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The government is making attempts at curtailing the flood of spam emails with little progress, protests are legal but strictly supervised, pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government, and school uniforms are compulsory. Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Edison Culver's national animal is the Chupacabre, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Credit.

Edison Culver is ranked 4,055th in The North Pacific and 86,168th in the world for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring -3 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
