The Cannibal of Eddy merckx is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.688 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The large government devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Education receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of 1st place. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 18%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Tourism and Automobile Manufacturing.

Birds and children's kites are regularly brought down by anti-aircraft fire, reports of attacks by bright purple sixty-foot high spiders have recently shot up, Eddy merckx's army is full of two-metre tall super-soldiers, and the richest citizens live in sheltered private citadels. Crime is a major problem. Eddy merckx's national animal is the cannibal, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the frank.
