The Republic of East Strovenga is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Leader with an even hand, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 2.593 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although the Environment and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of East Strovenga City. The average income tax rate is 37%, but much higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The "Underwear of Women in Power" issue of The East Strovenga City Times is sold out, East Strovenga's soft-touch approach to diplomacy has made it known as the 'push-over' of the region, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, and school uniforms are compulsory. Crime is well under control. East Strovenga's national animal is the Unladden Unicorn, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Royalflushen.
