The Reich of Earthpool is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Chairman Steve Jobs with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 1.835 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Cupertino. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 57%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Woodchip Exports.

Criminals are put to death while cuddling their favourite teddy bear, the streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars, colleges adhere to rigid ethnic quotas for admissions, and Eagles are becoming popular in pet stores nationwide. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Earthpool's national animal is the Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the iCoin.
