The Protectorate of Dyr Nasad III is a massive, economically powerful nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.029 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A large private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Arms Manufacturing.

Elections have been outlawed, euthanasia is legal, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, and mining is the nation's most dangerous occupation. Crime is a major problem. Dyr Nasad III's national animal is the squirrel monkey, and its currency is the livre.
