Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 6.774 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

The medium-sized, pro-business government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Education are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dyr Nasad City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 1%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Book Publishing and Arms Manufacturing.

Squirrel monkeys are becoming popular in pet stores nationwide, penurious citizens die from easily remedied ailments because they aren't 'taking enough initiative', voting is voluntary, and 'Mountain Doobie' is widely regarded as the nation's favourite drink. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate. Dyr Nasad's national animal is the squirrel monkey, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the livre.
