Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.99 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of The Metropolious of Dukopia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 83%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

Frequent fliers are obliged to submit to invasive security procedures by government security, politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads, Dukopolious's army is full of two-metre tall super-soldiers, and Red Cross demand for body bags are rising while sutures are decreasing. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Dukopolious's national animal is the The Great Dukopion Weimaraner, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Dunkovic Agnosticism, and its currency is the Marret.
