The Republic of Dranae is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Miss Val with a fair hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.415 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Law & Order receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 73%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Book Publishing industries.

Children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life, teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, the government recently relinquished its monopoly on the mail service, and people are now classified as male, female, or genderqueer. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown. Dranae's national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Dima.
