OverviewPeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The Armed Republic of Drakkengard is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Heinrich von Drakken with an iron fist, and remarkable for its anti-smoking policies. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 15.338 billion Drakkengardians are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Imperia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 52%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Drakkengard's airwaves are dominated by corporate-backed commercial radio, citizens live in superstitious fear of the mysterious glowing clouds that float over Drakkengard, violent criminals are doomed to be hunted by a psychotic billionaire, and politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Drakkengard's national animal is the Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution, and its currency is the Gald.

Drakkengard is ranked 3,846th in The East Pacific and 113,012th in the world for Most Dedicated Public Healthcare, scoring -92 on the Theresa-Nightingale Rating.
