Overview People Government Economy Rank Trend

The Armed Republic of Drakkengard is a gargantuan, safe nation, ruled by Heinrich von Drakken with an even hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space, enslaved workforce, and sprawling nuclear power plants. The hard-nosed, hard-working, humorless population of 18.525 billion Drakkengardians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The tiny, corrupt government is primarily concerned with Defense, with Law & Order and Industry also on the agenda, while Social Policy and Environment aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Imperia. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Drakkengardian economy, worth an astonishing 10,807 trillion Galds a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is a breathtaking 583,374 Galds, with the richest citizens earning 5.2 times as much as the poorest.

Country folk are sent to obligatory boarding schools to learn how to be civilized, bored politicians often entertain themselves with games of Simon during important votes, weird or unusual crimes merit cruel and unusual punishments, and belligerent citizens shoot at passing clouds for 'violating their airspace'. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force. Drakkengard's national animal is the Dragon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

Drakkengard is ranked 72nd in the world and 3rd in The East Pacific for Most Scientifically Advanced, scoring 813.35 on the Kurzweil Singularity Index.
