The People's Republic of Dostoy is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by Norman Chills with a fair hand, and remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 1.1 billion are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whoever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Social Welfare and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fyodor. The average income tax rate is 84%, and even higher for the wealthy. A robust private sector is dominated by the Tourism industry.

Dostoy's educational system is the envy of many and regarded as a pinnacle of academic achievement, embarrassed police officers wear spandex and carry net guns, inter-species marriages are ignored by the government, and the nation leads Twelfth Revolution in per capita stalking. Crime is totally unknown. Dostoy's national animal is the Lion, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Karam.

Dostoy is ranked 11th in Twelfth Revolution and 120,567th in the world for Largest Mining Sector, scoring -5 on the Blue Sky Asbestos Index.
