The Democratic Republic of Dharmarath is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Dharmraj with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate population of 1.511 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bindu. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 52%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Information Technology and Beef-Based Agriculture.

The importance of winning Olympic gold medals is indoctrinated from an early age, politicians constantly ring their voters to remind them how good a job they're doing, the government has ordered a moratorium on referenda, and political parties are banned from advertising and receiving private donations. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dharmarath's national animal is the Cow, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Swarna.
