The Pleased to Meet You of Devil is a massive, devout nation, ruled by The Robot Devil with an iron fist, and renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.326 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hell. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 2%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Pizza Delivery.

Programmes of questionable content are shown at peak-hours, organised sports are frowned upon as frivolous, shanty towns are forming in the suburbs of major cities, and employers may fire workers without giving any reason. Crime is pervasive. Devil's national animal is the Goat, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the River Styx Coin.
