The Indifferent Gods of Derscon is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Mahatzar Alexei I Andropov with a fair hand, and remarkable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 20.89 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals is mainly concerned with Education, although Law & Order and Public Transport are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Kaesthondheim. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

The entire retail industry has been replaced by online delivery services, the nation leads Greater Prussia in per capita stalking, internet service is too costly for normal people to purchase, and nervous homeowners have been blamed for rising death rates amongst carol singers and locksmiths. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem. Derscon's national animal is the Albino squirrel, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Cult of the Dragon God, and its currency is the Xelmark.

Derscon is ranked 13th in Greater Prussia and 129,318th in the world for Most Eco-Friendly Governments, scoring -130 on the Dolphin Recycling Awareness Index.
