The Republic of Democratic India is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Sardar Patal with an even hand, and notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its quiet, industrious population of 2.466 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of NEW DELHI. The average income tax rate is 86%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Information Technology and Book Publishing.

The nation's industries are scrambling to switch to biodegradable plastics, euthanasia is illegal, the government is using tax revenues to provide jobs for the poor, and condemned prisoners spend hours a day sitting in lotus position looking perplexed. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Democratic India's national animal is the Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rupee.

Democratic India is ranked 3rd in Mother Earth and 117,310th in the world for Most Politically Apathetic Citizens, with -19 Whatever.
