The Anarcho-Syndicalist Republic of Debslandica is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Chancellor Debs with a fair hand, and notable for its devotion to social welfare. Its hard-nosed, intelligent population of 2.02 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, liberal government is mainly concerned with Education, although Healthcare and Social Welfare are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Charlotte. The average income tax rate is 22%, but much higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Elections have become procedural nightmares due to voters persistently rejecting candidates, Debslandica's soft-touch approach to diplomacy has made it known as the 'push-over' of the region, space shuttles regularly launch rubbish into space, and meat-eating is frowned upon. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a serious problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Debslandica's national animal is the Lorax, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Dollar.
