The Republic of Dark Invader is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 680 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, moralistic morass -- is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Defence are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dark Invader City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 32%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

The people are furious with the government for allowing citizens to be executed for petty crimes in foreign countries, radio shows frequently feature people denouncing religion, Mr Happy's Funland has just been named Dark Invader's new capital, and employers may fire workers without giving any reason. Crime is moderate. Dark Invader's national animal is the Grim Reaper, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Black Coin.
