The Free Land of Dantiania is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Dante with an even hand, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 3.579 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Education, although Public Transport and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dantea. The average income tax rate is 67%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

Only fully-fledged members of MENSA are allowed to vote, Pinkerton agents are called in to forcibly break up white collar strikes, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, and organ donation rates have hit a new low. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dantiania's national animal is the dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the krona.
