The Republic of Dalzelle is a huge, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 851 million live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Law & Order, and Religion & Spirituality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 2%. A robust private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Door-to-door Insurance Sales, and Trout Farming industries.

Voting is voluntary, military funding has been stripped back, and surveillance cameras are banned. Crime is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Dalzelle's national animal is the eagle, and its currency is the dollar.
