The Great Satan of Dagnia is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Rashad Balafrej with an even hand, and notable for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 19.359 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Medinat al-MaSdar. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Uranium Mining industries.

Customs turn away those considered to have an unfavourable ethnicity, Dagnia-made cars tend to catch fire in people's driveways, city sidewalks are crowded with overweight people, and anti-government web sites are springing up. Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dagnia's national animal is the Fox, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Gold.

Dagnia is ranked 12th in Galts Gulch and 119,572nd in the world for Most Pacifist, scoring -1,246 on the Lennon-Springsteen Scale.
